Investing insights is the key for investors to make quick and informed decisions. However, the information overload with
the vast amount of financial articles can flood first-time investors with too much information. It leads to confusion
especially for first-time investors.

85.7% of beginners do not use technical indicators to make trading decision as they use company news and share reports as main analysis.

Based on our survey, we discovered that almost 80% of users only used the app for the buy/sell function and add alerts.
What We Learnt From The Research
We find it surprising that beginner investors do not use technical indicator but rely heavily on fundamental analysis to
analyse the stocks.
This insight lead us to believe that news serve as the most important source of information for young investors to make
investment decisions.
User Persona
Brad is a lawyer for a legal firm. He needs an intuitive investing app which he can access quick information with ease
with his limited time available for managing his investment.
Pain Points
He feel overwhelmed when using the app to keep in trend with the market insights due to information overload.
What User Wants
As a beginner investor, I want to be able to read the news easily to make informed investment decisions to profit from
the market.

Usability Testing
Then I tested the prototype that had been made. I invited 10 participants to do usability testing.This test is conducted
remotely on Maze.
The test carried out allowed me to observe details that I had not noticed before. I realised my design are not perfect
and still need iterations to reduce the misclick rate and further improve the task flow success rate.
What’s Next

Dark mode screens- We noticed that many people nowadays are browsing contents in the dark therefore data visualisation
will be easier on the eye if it is on dark mode.

Gamification- To keep users more engaged and motivated to read the news, gamification elements can be included in news
feature. There should be elements like badges for articles bookmarked etc.
